New Patients
Telemedicine appointments are billed almost identical to in-person office visits. All Washington State private insurance companies must cover telemedicine visits but each company has different reimbursement terms. This means that we recommend every patient call their insurance company to understand the specific telemedicine benefits before the first visit. We can provide a template to help guide you in asking the correct questions.
Evo Naturopathic Medicine and Wellness uses Charm as their electronic health records system. This secure, HIPPA compliant platform has an integrated visual/audio telemedicine feature. The telemedicine visits are live video conferences that are encrypted, confidential and private and the appointments are never recorded. The video conference is extremely user friendly and easy to use.
Dr. Estrada is currently contracted with Regence, Premera and First Choice. As a service to her patients, she will bill all visits to the insurance companies she is credentialed with. If you have an insurance plan that Dr. Estrada is not contracted with, you will be processed as a cash patient but we can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement.
Cash patients will receive a 10% discount when paid at time of service. The cost of the visit is determined by complexity of the issue and time spent.
Depending on your medical complaints, Dr. Estrada may recommend comprehensive laboratory testing. Some of the testing may involve a cash price but she will always disclose this in the visit and give additional non cash options.
- Dr. Estrada can only provide medical treatment to individuals located within Washington State.
- Dr. Estrada only conducts her visits within her office, which is secure and private.
- Telemedicine has its limitations and there is no guarantee that the telemedicine consultation will eliminate the need to be seen by a health care provider in person.
- Emergencies cannot be treated by telemedicine.
- All consent forms and the new patient intake must be submitted 24 hours before the initial visit.
- Dr. Estrada only practices within her naturopathic medicine scope of practice, which means recommendations/referrals might be made based on the medical picture.
All prescribed supplements can be purchased through the clinic's online dispensary through Wellevate. Once you have established care with Dr. Estrada you will receive an email invitation to create a Wellevate account. This account will give you access to all medical grade supplements that are shipped directly to your house at a 10% discount.
- At the completion of your visit you will receive a detailed treatment plan in your Charm portal and email.
- If labs are ordered, Dr. Estrada will give you all pertinent information to complete these. Draw sites are located throughout Washington and most patients only have to drive 5 minutes or less to get blood drawn.
- You will receive an email to set up your Wellevate account so you can purchase all supplements online and have them delivered to your home. You will also receive a 10% discount every time you purchase through the online dispensary.
- If medical records are needed from other physicians, you will receive an electronic form to sign that releases your medical records.
- All referrals will be sent after the visit and Dr. Estrada will give you all the necessary information to schedule the appointment.

How to prepare for your first visit
- Create a Charm portal login. After your appointment request is accepted you will receive an email with a link to create an account.
- Review and sign the following consent forms online in Charm: Consent to Treatment, Email and Telemedicine Consent Form, Financial Policy, Notice of Privacy Practices, Patient Insurance Information.
- Complete the New Patient Intake Form and submit 24 hours before the first visit.
- Call your insurance company to discuss your benefits. The phone number is located on the back of your insurance card. Make sure you ask about coverage for naturopathic medicine AND telemedicine.
- We recommend using a laptop or tablet for your telemedicine visit because of the larger screen.
- Whether you plan on having the appointment at home or work, make sure you choose a space that is private and quiet.
- Connect to a private, secure WiFi to ensure the best connection.
- Tip: wearing headphones helps make the audio louder and more clear.
- Check your inbox for the email from Charm with the video conference URL. Click the link 10 minutes before the appointment time.
- The telemedicine visit is conducted through ZOOM which is encrypted and HIPPA compliant. You may be prompted to download the free ZOOM application if using an Apple product.
- Once you have joined the video conference you can mute your audio and disable your video while you wait for Dr. Estrada to join. Once you see Dr. Estrada you will then want to turn on your camera and microphone.
- The first visit is all about getting to know you. Dr. Estrada wants to know all about your current health complaints and she will dive into specifics about your past medical history, family history and lifestyle. The first visit is all about getting comfortable and collecting information. The hour will fly by!
